Marietje's Purse

Product description

Marietje Brouwers, born somewhere in the Netherlands in 1908, stitched a small purse with a sampler on the backside at the age of 12. “JB” and “AvG” are presumably her parents.  

In 2022, I bought the framed purse at Marktplaats. Inspired by the purse, I designed a matching needle book and a scissor fob, creating a lovely sewing or embroidery set.

• Classic Colorworks “Cherry Cobbler” (4 skeins) (DMC 3777) 

• Classic Colorworks “Deep Blue Sea” (DMC 931) 

• Weeks Dye Works Woolfelt “Camel” 

• Quiltfabric Moda French General Solids 13529-23 for lining 

• DMC 3777 to crochet the strings 

• Cotton fusible lining 

• Sheeps wool or stuffing of your choice 

• Buttons (from Grannies buttonbox
