Summer SAL 2025 – Black Rooster 1811

This summer we’ll be stitching a very special design, based on an antique sampler from 1811 – featuring a proud black rooster as the centerpiece.

The Black Rooster 1811 Summer SAL is divided into 12 weekly parts, gradually revealing the full pattern. A charming seasonal project inspired by historic needlework.

Start: Saturday, June 28
Final part: Saturday, September 13
Each week’s pattern will be published on the website – a new part every Saturday.

You can now pre-order your thread set to make sure I can order enough stock in time.
Thread sets will be shipped in mid-June.

Available in DMC, Sulky, and hand-dyed threads (Classic Colorworks and Weeks Dye Works), all carefully selected to match the colors of the original sampler.

Size and materials

The design measures 221 x 113 stitches.
Recommended fabric: Zweigart “Vintage Mocha” (color 3009), but feel free to choose what you like best.
