Summer SAL 2026 - Pietertje van Wezel 1881

Every summer, Atelier Soed Idee hosts the annual Summer SAL: a sampler in parts, free to stitch at your own pace. This year it's extra special - because 2026 is an anniversary year, and that calls for an extraordinary pattern. 
 

Meet Pietertje van Wezel. 

Pietertje's sampler dates back to 1881 and caught my eye straight away. The red house in the centre, the colourful borders, the little angels and vases full of flowers - it's exactly the atmosphere I love. But what really completed the picture: I suddenly spotted a match with my "Simone's Favorites" Sulky thread sets. As if Pietertje had been waiting all these years. 
 

This pattern is not an exact reproduction, but my own interpretation in the Simone's Favorites colours - with an extra touch of brown. There is also a more antique colour version, stitched with overdyed threads for that authentic, worn feel. 

This year, summer lasts 15 weeks!

From Thursday 25 June through Thursday 1 October, you will receive a new pattern part every Thursday. Not via the website this time, but through the Soed Idee Mail. Exclusively for all my loyal followers. Make sure you are subscribed so you don't miss a thing! 

Thursday 1 October is also the start of my big anniversary weekend - so the SAL ends with a celebration.
 

Pre-orders fabric and thread 

To make sure everything arrives on time, you can place pre-orders now. This helps me order the right quantities in time. Pre-orders are open until 12 May, but the sooner the better. You will find the different options below.
